Christmas menu template

A set Christmas menu laid out in courses, with holiday colours you can switch on or off. Use it for a family dinner or a priced restaurant offer.

A Christmas menu is a set menu

Unlike an everyday menu, a Christmas menu usually sells one thing: a fixed number of courses for one price. That changes the layout. Instead of a price on every dish, the price sits once, near the top or in the footnote, and the page is organised by course. The sample on this page follows that pattern: three courses at a single price, with a separate drinks section that is priced line by line.

How to lay it out

  • State the deal once. “Three courses 38 per person” in the footnote or the tagline. Repeating it on every line adds clutter.
  • Three or four choices per course. Include at least one vegetarian or vegan choice in each course, not only the main.
  • Say the practical things. Booking deadline, deposit, pre-order for large tables, last orders. These belong in the footnote.
  • Keep the drinks apart. Festive drinks as their own section, with prices, so they can sell without being part of the set price.

Holiday colours

Use the template button and the tool opens with “Seasonal colours” set to Holiday: deep red and pine green over the layout you choose. The modern minimal style in the sample is restrained and prints cleanly; the chalkboard style turns dark green with gold lettering and works well in a window. Change the box to Autumn or None whenever you like.

Home dinner or restaurant

For a family dinner, delete the footnote price and write the time of the meal instead. Many hosts print the menu as a place-setting card. For a restaurant, the same page doubles as a window sign and, saved as a PDF, as the file you send to customers who ask what you are serving.

Check what you promise

A set menu is a commitment, so check each dish against your kitchen before printing: stock, gravy and pastry hide gluten and dairy, and nuts show up in desserts. The dietary marks on the sample are examples; mark only what you can verify. Rules about allergen information differ by country, so check what applies to you.

Printing

Pick Letter or A4 first. Print on 120 gsm paper or heavier if you want a menu that feels like a keepsake. If you print many copies at a copy shop, send them the PDF from the browser’s print dialog.

Questions about this template

How do I show a set price for three courses?

Write it once in the tagline or footnote, for example “Three courses 38 per person”, and leave the item prices blank. Items without a price print as plain lines.

How many dishes per course?

Three is usual: a meat or fish choice, a lighter one, and a vegetarian one. More than four slows the kitchen and the guests.

Can I change the holiday colours?

Yes. The Seasonal colours box offers None, Autumn and Holiday over any of the four layout styles.

Does it work for a home dinner?

Yes. Remove the price from the footnote, add the meal time, and print it as a table card.
